Unable to open pty: No such file or directory

vzctl exec $CTID /sbin/MAKEDEV tty
vzctl exec $CTID /sbin/MAKEDEV pty

or

vzctl exec $CTID "cd /dev; /sbin/MAKEDEV pty"

The above must be done on server node and note $CTID must be replaced with the ID of the VPS server.
